We are delighted to announce the 2011 Maudsley Annual Review of Psychiatry which builds on the success of our inaugural meeting and aims to bridge the gap between scientific developments in mental health and their application in clinical care.

Each year we select three themes that represent topics in psychiatry where substantial developments were achieved understanding or treating mental illness that are directly relevant to clinical practice. Each year we bring together internationally renowned researchers and clinicians to discuss their findings and share their perspective on each of their expert themes in a clinically relevant manner.

The three themes covered in the 2011 Maudsley Annual Review of Psychiatry focus on advances in Major Depressive Disorder, in promoting the physical wellbeing or patients with mental disorders and in improving clinical and functional outcome through better adherence.

Key Speakers for the Core Scientific programme: Norman Sartorius, Rudolph Uher, Marieke Wichers, George Papakostas, Mark De Hert, Peter Haddad and Francesc Colom
